![]() Samsung is a reputable brand and Blackmagic even shown their SSD s being used in there advertising / online videos.īlackmagic please can you get to the bottom of this and provide a definitive answer to the issue. The hardware is meant to adhere to standards and the ATEM Mini Pro should be able to write without issue to standard SSD drives without people having to be very specific about drives they choose. ![]() I have not been offered a replacement (yet) and have only ever been asked to send my ATEM in for testing, which I don't want to do a present having waited for them to become available. So I don't think its related to throughput speed of the SSD as the 70Mbps recording works okay where as the 20Mbps has the issues.Īlthough they are friendly and helpful I must say I am disappointed with the overall customer service experience. I have found that my ATEM fails regularly when using a setting in the mid compression range (around 20Mbps), if you go to the lower compression setting 70Mbps it will record all day with no issues. I have spent weeks on and off testing different recording settings and sending my finding to the support team but they don't seem any closer to an answer. The RED record button on the ATEM flashes when the error occurs and you need to unplug the SSD or sometimes re-power the ATEM to get it working again. A SSD with a capacity of 250GB should be plenty for most users. First, make sure to get a drive with a high capacity. There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for a SSD. ![]() I have tried two different Samsung T5 500GB SSD's and am finding that the ATEM stops recording randomly when recording to them. With a SSD, you will experience shorter load times, faster boot times, and generally quicker performance. I have been in contact with the Blackmagic support team in the UK on and off for about two month now and was under the impression from them that I was the only person who was experiencing any issues with SSD drives. Even though the drives work perfectly well for other uses. Sounds like something wrong with either the ATEM Mini Pro and its support of what should be standards based Samsung SSD drives or the drives themselves. At last, so its not just my ATEM Mini Pro playing up.
